20 Faith Topics for Discussion With Your Teen

You know what’s worse than having one-word conversations with your teen? That’s right, nothing. It’s frustrating, it’s boring (for both parties), and you’re probably down-right over it! Well, allow us to relieve a bit of that frustration today with 20+ conversation starters!

Faith Topics for Discussion

  1. What do you think it means to be saved?
  2. What does it mean to own your faith?
  3. Do you struggle with the idea of the Trinity? What is your understanding of it?
  4. Do you think it’s okay to doubt your faith? Why?
  5. What can I do to help you if you’re doubting? Can I offer you places to research, help answer some of your questions, or just discuss something you’re struggling with?
  6. Often times, things like youth conferences produce a “spiritual high” for students, that doesn’t always last. Do you relate to that feeling? Have you ever experienced a “spiritual high” that didn’t last after the conference was over?
  7. What comes to mind when you think of God?
  8. Why do you think there’s injustice in the world today? What do you think is our role as Christians in issues of injustice?
  9. If Jesus always taught love in the Bible, why does it seem like some Christians have hate in their hearts?
