Toben Heim

Toben has lived in Colorado Springs before Powers existed and Woodmen was a dirt road.  His parents worked for Young Life and after Toben attended Whitworth University he decided to work in ministry too.  For the last 30 years Toben has worked exclusively in the ministry space, primarily for not-for-profits.  Toben has two kids (Audrey and Emma) and a beautiful wife (Jamie).

Eunji Lee

Meet Eunji our Senior Marketing Manager here at Axis.  Eunji, pronounced UN-JI is in Eunji’s words an extremely common korean name similar to a John (if you don’t believe me, I dare you to type Eunji on FB, IG, or Venmo ;))
Eunji was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina when she was 5. Eunji spent most of middle and high school in South Florida. Her work background is in digital marketing & advertising, working at various agencies on multiple fortune 500 brands. Her latest gig was at a startup called WeWork. In 2018, God asked her to leave everything behind including her job at WeWork to go do YWAM DTS. Being 32 years old at the time, Eunji wrestled with God but she knew she was receiving her missional calling and decided to leave everything and go to follow Him. While at DTS, He asked her to join a sister ministry to YWAM called Circuit Riders (IG: crmovement) in Huntington Beach who reaches students across college campuses. 6 months ago, Eunji joined the CR family. Her heart burns for the next generation to know God and who they are in God. And in the midst of all that, God blessed her with this wonderful opportunity. Eunji very excited to be part of the Axis team, and expectant for God’s plan to unfold through Axis and revival and redemption happening across families all over.

Joshua Martinez

Joshua was born in Southern California.
At age seven, he and his family left to do missionary work in St Petersburg, Russia where he would spend most of his childhood and teenage years.
Since then Joshua has made my home in a small town on the California coast called San Buena Ventura.
Joshua is excited to be living in Colorado and be a part of the Axis team.  Things he loves to do include, training and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, discover new places, making new friends, and having real conversations with people one on one. An interesting fact about Joshua – nine times out of ten you will find him drinking Starbucks.

CJ Fant

CJ’s favorite thing is to describe something with as weird of an analogy as possible. If you have a conversation with him for longer than 5 minutes, he’ll probably start talking about how he thinks Post Malone is the American Ed Sheeran. From England to Louisiana to Hawaii, growing up in an Air Force family allowed him to be exposed to multiple cultures, and this is probably where his fascination with culture, embedded or popular, comes from. Incredibly optimistic, CJ will see and believe the best in anything and everyone. So far, it hasn’t burned him too much! If he’s not listening to music, he’s probably playing drums, and if he’s not playing drums, he’s probably playing some Dota with his friends.

CJ has always loved connecting culture with the Bible and processing and understanding why we say what we say, listen to what we listen to, and watch what we watch. His job at Axis is to constantly learn, grow, and process through deep ideas in order to help the generations, young and old, to do the same.

Amy Haywood

Amy is a graduate of Asbury University. She holds a master’s degree in international journalism from Baylor University and a master’s in national security and strategic policy from the U.S. Naval War College. Her professional experience is primarily in government and education. Named after Amy Carmichael, she similarly has a passion for protecting and advocating for children’s wellbeing. She lives in Virginia with her husband and daughter. She enjoys family time, playing with her Belgian Malinois, reading, writing, researching, and outdoor activities.

Brennan McCarthy

Brennan grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and recently graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago studying Bible and Communications. While in Chicago, Brennan was actively involved in urban ministry and sexual bondage ministries. He loved to rollerblade along the lakefront, and could be found exploring all over Chicago’s various neighborhoods. Brennan established his own photography business in high school, and continued to expand his writing and leadership skills during college. He loves to talk about media and culture, theology, and philosophy, but is always down for some good humored banter. Brennan is thrilled to be back outdoors, where opportunities to hike, camp, play frisbee, bike, and adventure abound!

Dilynn Marr

Dilynn is the Operations Manager here at Axis, what she enjoys most about her job is serving the people she works with and creating new systems to effectively and efficiently help people. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a bachelor’s in communication, with an emphasis in leadership. Having studied leadership, Dilynn is passionate to find the best way to lead people through change (because change can be scary to anyone) as a servant leader who understands the value of leading by example. Dilynn enjoys doing life with her husband Geoff and loves to travel and adventure with him, in Colorado and around the world.

Tony Miller

Tony and his wife Julie have been married 21 years this past June. They have three incredible children Claire (14), Owen (12), and Stella (9). He loves going on bike rides, enjoying good ice cream, buying and fixing up old stuff and the idea of camping. Tony has been involved in youth ministry for 25 years and still loves seeing the next generation own their faith.

Russell Keller

Russell graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Communication. He joined Axis because he is excited to see parents having loving, difficult, heartfelt, awkward, impactful conversations with their kids; to see them cultivate an environment of safety, honesty, and curiosity within their homes. Russell serves on the frontlines of Axis, taking your calls, answering your emails, and hearing your thoughts!

A Personal Note From Russell: I am a Colorado Springs native, but I never go hiking and you can tell. I got married back in 2015, got baptized in 2018, and ate an entire pizza by myself yesterday. My interests include spending time with my wife Lydia, trying to avoid math, and sleeping until people are worried.

Hannah Bennett

Hannah is a graduate of James Madison University in Virginia. She holds a BA and majored in media arts and design with a concentration in journalism and minor in creative writing. She’s married to her wonderful husband, loves coffee, dogs, books and the mountains. She is excited to be working with the Axis team and writing to serve God’s kingdom.

Charissa Hoskins

Charissa Hoskins is a Resource Specialist here at Axis. She is one of our newer hires that has been with our ministry for about 3 months and mainly reaches out to schools, churches, and parents to see how we can help equip them. She is known for bringing a positive and encouraging atmosphere to the workspace. Charissa is originally from Iowa but moved out to Colorado Springs in 2012 for Charis Bible College. Some of her hobbies are hiking, biking, horseback riding, and finding new coffee shops.

Caleb Phillips

Caleb grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended college at Oklahoma State University, where he recently graduated with two degrees, one in Marketing and the other in Entrepreneurship. He loves hiking, skiing, camping and being outdoors! Fun fact, he has a dog, two cats, and a free-roam bunny who all live in harmony.

Sarah Schepens

Sarah Schepens has lived in Colorado for over a year, and while loves spending time in the mountains, loves the ocean more. Raised in South America, she has always loved the world and has her MA in Intercultural Studies. She most recently lived in Paris and the Middle East developing interns and working with women in sustainable business.  She appreciates all things culture, travel, beauty, fashion, expression, and unique creative outlets. When she’s not out drinking [coffee] with friends or exploring new cities, Sarah loves cozy pants, slippers, lots o’ blankets, and her favorite show.

Reesey Rea

Our new Content Creator

Although Reesey wasn’t named after the candy, Reese’s peanut butter cups are her favorite! She adores yoga, reading, playing with her cute (but obnoxious) puppy Daisy, and eating microwave popcorn. She feels most alive when discussing intriguing philosophies with thoughtful people, or on solitary walks with space to be existential and angsty. At the moment G.K. Chesterton is disrupting her world, causing her to think about how to find beauty in the most ordinary moments.

Kelli Rankin

As Partner Relationship Manager, Kelli has the awesome opportunity to meet with leaders within a variety of organizations and denominations creating ways for Axis to resource their communities and constituents.

Kelli is a true Colorado native, and as such lives the stereotypical Colorado lifestyle including hiking, skiing, snowboarding, running and mountain biking. She has been married 22 years to her high school sweetheart Seth, and together they have three incredible kids.

Courtney Maloney

Courtney graduated with a Bachelors in Christian Ministries and Youth Leadership Development. Having ministered to a variety of students (convicts, addicts, people with disabilities and church kids) Courtney has experience interacting and sharing the Gospel with people from all walks of life. Her various internships at camps and churches have taught her that laughter, games, and a good sarcastic comment can bring people together from all walks of life. She has witnessed the power of testimony and authenticity when it comes to calling students into engagement rather than apathy in their faith. Courtney gratefully welcomes the opportunity to help students see the freedom that comes in owning who we are in Christ, and for her that means being indoorsy and dramatic. Courtney has been with Axis since 2017. When she is not culturally translating, you can find her reading Harry Potter, sitting in the sun, or taking short walks to the fridge. Some of her greatest passions in life are to create order from chaos and build community around those who feel alone. Glad you’ve found yourself here ~ Courtney would enjoy hearing your story, and learning where your favorite French fries are from.

Sharon Melendez

Sharon Melendez has over 25 years of Nonprofit Management experience and is passionate about being a good steward of resources and helping others to be the best version of themselves in all they do.  She manages the Operations at Axis. Her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Studies and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management have been instrumental in successfully managing ministries.  When not working, you will find Sharon at home in her kitchen spending time with her family which includes, her wonderful husband Ed, six children and four beautiful grandchildren.  Life is full when cooking for the family, laughing and dancing in the kitchen….

Lexi Gray

Lexi is a number 2 on the Enneagram, which means that she loves to love people fiercely. Some of her favorite things to do are grab coffee with friends, eat snacks, watch Netflix (mainly Gilmore Girls and Friends), and she tries to have at least one dance party a day. Lexi’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 27:3 and she is currently studying the book of Lamentations. She mentioned how much she loves to eat snacks, her favorite snack is salt and vinegar potato chips.

Dan Dueber

Dan is the money man of Axis, otherwise called the CFO (Chief Financial Officer).  Dan has 42 years of CEO and executive financial management experience in many different industries.  Dan is passionate about Axis’ mission and enjoys working with a talented team of like-minded folks.  Dan has been married 41 years, has three wonderful daughters, one precious granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way.  His interests include hiking, skiing, gardening, cooking, photography, RV’ing and relaxing!

Madison Bowers

Madison is the Executive Assistant at Axis. She studied theater and performing arts at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Her amazing relationship with her mom is what makes her passionate about working at Axis. She and her husband Daniel live in Colorado Springs with their two dogs Tucker and Mac. She enjoys fitness and works as a part time online personal trainer. In her free time she enjoys anything outside, travel and making YouTube videos for her and her husband’s fitness channel.

Chris Powell

Chris is a native Texan with an English Degree and a soft spot for fajitas and sci-fi novels. You might also find him playing guitar or mandolin, comparing root beers, throwing Frisbee, or playing tennis or racquetball. When he grows up he wants to be a public speaker, but he wouldn’t mind videography, graphic design, or writing.

Evan Barber

Evan is an outgoing introvert from Jonesboro, AR, which is near the buckle of the Bible Belt, and just outside Tornado Alley. He likes his coffee black, his tea green, and his bibles read.

Jason Hickerson

Jason serves Axis by helping with all things marketing and technology. Basically everything that happens behind the scenes. He is passionate about helping parents, leaders, and teachers have valuable conversation about hard topics. He and his wife Tisha have 3 children who embrace the red-head life!

Jeremiah Callihan

Hi, I’m Jeremiah, an Axis cofounder. I remember dreaming about what Axis could be back in the day, eating at Chick-fil-a on a weekly (or more) basis. I wanted to start Axis because I was sick of seeing friends become apathetic about their faith. I thought that a young team who melded current pop-culture with deep philosophical and theological questions would captivate students. As Axis continues to make a difference, this theory has proven true.

Some of the things that I love are:
